Mayor Glidden Issues Thanksgiving Message

In an effort to honor and recognize Closter residents who are US Veterans, the borough is seeking to develop a list of those who have served our country. If you are Veteran, please consider completing a quick contact registration form at the following link below. Bergen County is currently under a Red Flag Warning, no open burns or fire pits are permitted. There is a large brush fire on the Palisades right now causing a heavy smoke condition throughout the Northern Valley. We are aware of the haze and the smell of something burning.

We have just been made aware that our Closter Police Department’s phone number may have been spoofed. The Closter Police will not be calling you letting you know your identity has been compromised. We will never ask for donations over the phone. If you suspect the call to be suspicious please hang up and call us to confirm if the Closter Police were looking to speak with you.

As you may be aware, the State of NJ is extremely dry currently which has significantly raised the threat and danger of brush fires.
