In recent days various information has been circulating in the Closter community regarding “Drone Flights” scheduled to survey Veolia Watershed properties in Closter as part of a
Deer Population Study.
The official story is that there are NO Drone Flights scheduled for our area. ALL Deer Population Studies have been postponed to a later date. We have confirmed with Veolia that Closter was NEVER scheduled for this.

Bergen County is currently under a Red Flag Warning, no open burns or fire pits are permitted. There is a large brush fire on the Palisades right now causing a heavy smoke condition throughout the Northern Valley. We are aware of the haze and the smell of something burning.
We have just been made aware that our Closter Police Department’s phone number may have been spoofed. The Closter Police will not be calling you letting you know your identity has been compromised. We will never ask for donations over the phone. If you suspect the call to be suspicious please hang up and call us to confirm if the Closter Police were looking to speak with you.
As you may be aware, the State of NJ is extremely dry currently which has significantly raised the threat and danger of brush fires. Please refrain from ANY outdoor burning during this time and continue to monitor the NJ Forest Fire Service link below for most current information and restrictions as this dry spell continues.
