League of Women Voters
(Tue Jul 10, 2012) The League of Women Voters is a nationwide organization, founded in 1920 after women were granted the right to vote. It's purpose is to inform citizens about current issues and candidates for public office. We provide nonpartisan election information and candidates forums. We also study and lobby on vital public issues such as campaign finance, education, children's welfare, environmental protection, and other matters. The organization is open to all citizens 18 years and older. There are many Leagues throughout the country, seven of them in Bergen County. For further information call the League number, 1-800-792-VOTE or 201-391-5617.
