Closter Historical Society
(Wed Oct 21, 2015) The Closter Historical Society was formed in 1996 as a non-profit organization in order to promote the history and architecture of the Borough by means of educational programs. The Closter Historical Society publishes "History Notes" a newsletter, sponsors a Winter Lecture Series at the Closter Public Library, conducts walking tours, bus tours, cemetary tours and holds fund raising events such as family dinners. Past projects include the restoration of 20 tombstones in a colonial period cemetary. Future projects include publishing out-of-print books and monographs based on new research.
