(Tue Jul 10, 2012) Rotary is an association of business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, to encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to help build good will and peace in the world. There are more than one million service-minded men and women belonging to more than 23,000 Rotary clubs in 162 Nations.
Rotarians take great pride in their countless successes locally and internationally and enjoy the camaraderie that results from a worthy common effort. In fact, a stated objective of Rotary is the development of acquaintance as an opportunity to serve. At each weekly meeting, members are provided an occasion to learn about fellow members and the businesses and professions in which they are engaged. The meetings offer a unique forum to share experiences and ideas in an informal setting. As a result, many long-term friendships result from Rotary membership.
The Northern Valley Rotary Club serves the towns of Closter, Harrington Park, Haworth, Northvale, Norwood, Old Tappan and Rockleigh. Information about joining the Northern Valley Rotary Club can be obtained by calling Ray Cywinski at 201-599-6014.
