(Tue Jul 10, 2012) The philosophy of the PTO is to provide additional services and opportunities for our children. One of the ways we achieve that goal is to raise money.
We believe that the PTO is there for the children of Closter, and we encourage all parents to volunteer their time and energy in an effort to raise money to meet the increasing demands of a better education. This allows us to keep the cost of class trips down and to purchase items not included in the school budget.
We also help fund the continuing education of our teachers through college workshops. Besides raising money, we've started non-profit programs, such as: book purchasing for children in grades K-4 and the safety helmet program (at cost).
The PTO is an enormous success because of the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time, effort and energy on a continuing basis.
