2017 FIFTH ANNUAL CLOSTER TOWN-WIDE YARD SALES
Sponsored by the Food & Assistance Board
The Closter Food & Assistance Board is hosting its fifth annual Town-Wide Yard Sales on Friday, October 13th, Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th. Closter residents are invited to "turn their treasures into cash" and, at the same time, provide assistance to those members of our community who need it most. All registration fees for the Town-Wide Yard Sale will directly support the Food & Assistance Board of Closter and Closter Food Pantry. This is a rain or shine event.
How Does It Work?
Closter residents interested in participating in the Town-Wide Yard Sales can find information and a printable registration form at closterboro.com. Residents can also register in person at the Tax Office in Closter Borough Hall. Along with the completed registration form, participants will also need to provide a non-refundable donation of $20 per residential address.
The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 10th.
Once registered, all participants will have their addresses and details of their sale included on the Town-Wide Yard Sale Map which will be available on or before Thursday, October 12th. The map will be accessible on the Borough website (closterboro.com) and printed copies will be available at Borough Hall.
It’s a deal ! $20 covers print and online advertising AND Borough permit fees are waived. It’s easy ! Just pick the best day(s) and times for your schedule.
It’s convenient ! No need to lug your treasures to another location, sell from your own yard.
But best of all , you’re doing something good for the community. And joining the Town-Wide Yard Sales results in more buyers at each sale -- bargain shoppers love nothing more than spending the day treasure hunting in a town that is hosting a different sale around every corner !
The Town-Wide Yard Sales will benefit non-participants as well. Each $20 donation made to the Food & Assistance Board of Closter will directly fund the Closter Food Pantry (CFP) and provide additional services to Closter residents in need as well as to those in neighboring communities without food pantries. Over the past seven years, the number of households that the Closter Food Pantry serves on a regular basis has more than tripled ! Each month, CFP volunteers work to provide families with non-perishable foods as well as weekly distributions of fresh bread and seasonal fruit/produce. If you would like to help, please leave a bag of non-perishable grocery items in our donation cart found on the ground floor of Closter Borough Hall next to the elevators.
Anyone in Closter needing assistance or who has questions about the Town-Wide Yard Sales should email firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message for our board members at (201) 784-0600, Ext 429. All inquiries for assistance are received in complete confidence.
